    A new weekend start - and an extra day - for tennis' Australian Open next year


    The opening grand slam on the sport's annual calendar will start on Sunday in 2023 - getting underway on January 14.

    The move allows the tournament to become a 15-day event - in a bid to reduce the pressure on players and fans of late-night finishes.
