    One person is being taken to Christchurch hospital after a single vehicle crash on Avondale Rd


    Police were called to the New Brighton address just before 4.30.

    They say the individual appears to have suffered a medical event, before crashing and becoming trapped.

    St John have confirmed the person is in a moderate condition.
