    Former coach Brian "Bluey" McLennan has backed New Zealand Rugby League's decision to make Michael Maguire choose between the Kiwis and New South Wales

    McLennan's endorsed Warriors assistant Stacey Jones to take over the national side after Maguire opted to coach the Blues' side in State of Origin instead.

    Maguire had been looking to shoulder both roles but is also an NRL assistant coach with the Canberra Raiders.

    McLennan says the workload would've been overwhelming.
