The Rugby Football League have announced tackling above the armpit will be banned at all levels of community game - and at age grade level professionally - starting next year.
The change will come into effect at the senior professional level in 2025.
New Zealand Rugby and England's governing body in the 15-man code have already made decisions to lower the tackle height at community level.
