Police in Palmerston North are appealing for public help, after a shooting left a man dead overnight

A homicide inquiry was launched after the victim died in hospital.

Police were called to a Coromandel Court address just before 7:30 last night, and a scene guard has been at the property ever since.

A scene examination is underway as police appeal to those in the area who saw anything suspicious, to come forward.
