Top seed Novak Djokovic is fighting back in his Australian tennis Open men's semi-final against Italian Jannick Sinner on Rod Laver Arena

After losing the first two sets, the Serb has taken the third in a 7-6 tiebreaker.

It's currently 1-all in the fourth.

Meanwhile, Kiwi Erin Routliffe and Canadian Gaby Dabrowski have lost their women's doubles semi-final in straight sets.

The Black Caps are set to empty the injury ward ahead of the first test against South Africa, starting Sunday week.

Kane Williamson, Kyle Jamieson and Tom Blundell are all returning from respective hamstring injuries, with Jamieson having played in today's Super Smash elimination final for Canterbury.

Coach Gary Stead says they've all been increasing workloads.

Henry Nicholls has been dropped with Rachin Ravindra set to bat at four.

Kiwi golfer Lydia Ko doubts her winning form last weekend on the LPGA Tour was any help in today's first round at the latest event, also in Florida.

Ko's on top of the leaderboard again after a 6-under-par 65 - but says if anything, getting back up after a victory makes it harder the following week.

Ko shares the one-shot lead with American Nelly Korda.

On the men's tours - rookie Sam Jones has made an impressive start at the European Tour event in the UAE... Jones is sitting inside the top 10 after the first round.

But fellow Kiwi Ryan Fox has missed the cut at the PGA Tour event in San Diego.

The Breakers lead the Tasmania JackJumpers 3-2 in the first quarter of their NBL basketball clash at Eventfinda Stadium.
