The weather's expected to play ball today in Auckland for another big day of racing .. this time on the water

The Auckland Anniversary Day Regatta is back after last year's weather-related cancellation - organisers predicting a big turnout of both entrants and spectators.

Chairperson Bill Lomas says they expect it'll be a great day of sailing for all involved.

He was a bit nervous earlier in the week - but now the rain looks to have pushed over the North Island - and there should be a good amount of wind to push the boats through

Southwesters of around 20 to 25 knots are predicted.
