Dunedin City Council has taken to social media to remind locals which type of doughnuts are welcome in public parks

Dunedin City Council has taken to social media to remind locals which type of doughnuts are welcome in public parks

In a Facebook post, the council says while people are allowed to eat doughnuts in green spaces, taking cars to the field is not allowed.

They say the recreation area at Robin Hood Park in the Town Belt has been significantly damaged by four-wheel drive vehicles doing doughnuts and skids.

The vandalism means the area will be out of action for weeks, and won't be able to be used by local schools and sports clubs.

They add anyone who sees this happening in Dunedin's green spaces, should contact police.
