Wins for the two New Zealand teams in Super Rugby action overnight with the Chiefs edging the Crusaders 33-29 in Hamilton...and the Hurricanes blowing away the Force 44-14 in Perth

But questions are already being asked of so-called "smart" mouthguards after two players left the field in Hamilton believing they didn't need to undergo an HIA.

Crusaders lock Quinten Strange was surprised to be sidelined for a head check and the Chiefs' Anton Lienert-Brown was left visibly bemused when he was hauled from the field with little more than five minutes to go...and only one point separating the two teams.

Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan says he's all for protecting players...but losing Lienert-Brown late in the game was disconcerting.
