An out-of-control bushfire has burned through 14 thousand hectares, across the ditch, in Victoria

Victoria State emergency has called for evacuations of small towns, where the blaze has burned through houses and farms, and killed livestock.

Emergency services are battling to get the large blaze under control, with dangerous weather conditions forecast for Wednesday.

State response controller Tim Wiebusch says the weather conditions over the coming day, will be more favourable for a direct attack.

Wiebusch says they have around 500 firefighters, and a range of aircraft, working on the fire today.
