Wellington Phoenix women's coach Paul Temple has a unique connection with rising men's star Ben Old

Old's been a break-out player this season - scoring and contributing to many goals and helping the Nix men maintain top spot in the league for nine consecutive weeks.

Now coaching the club's wahine, Temple mentored the forward through the Phoenix academy, and also signed Old as a 13-year-old to their former Auckland club, North Shore United.

Temple is thrilled to see how the now 21-year-old has grown as a player.

The Phoenix men continue their quest for the title tomorrow night away to Melbourne City... the Phoenix women face the Glory in Perth at midnight.
