Search and rescue teams have found an item, believed to belong to a diver missing in the sea off Patea in South Taranaki

Today's search for the man, who disappeared last Sunday, has been focused on the coastline between Patea and Peka Peka.

Volunteers found the item near the Whangaehu river mouth, but still no sign of the diver.

Police would like to hear from anyone who finds items that may be relevant to the search on the coast between Patea and Peka Peka.
