Despite a drop in job ads, applications and interest remains high

Seek data shows a 27-percent drop in ads on March last year -- with all regions seeing a decrease.

Applications per ad, which have been rising since September, have remained steady with a zero-percent increase on February.

Country manager Rob Clark says it's still pretty competitive for jobseekers.

He says when the number of jobs declines and the amount of labour remains stable or increases -- there's more applications relative to the number of jobs.
