Firefighters remain at the scene of two scrub fires, in Auckland and Canterbury

Firefighters remain at the scene of two scrub fires, in Auckland and Canterbury

Auckland's State Highway 16 is closed north of Helensville and Police have been speaking to a person, over a fire that's burning through trees and vegetation on steep terrain.

    One home has been threatened.

Meanwhile, crews have been monitoring another blaze that's been burning at Masons Flat in North Canterbury.

Fire and Emergency Incident Controller Graham Knight told TV3 three households were evacuated, but one household has since been able to return.
