Police have issued an Interpol "black notice", seeking information from around the world about the remains found in Auckland's Gulf Harbour last month

The remains of what appears to be a short, middle-aged Chinese woman were found by a fisherman.

Despite dozens of calls to a dedicated phone line set up by the investigation team, police say the woman remains unclaimed and unidentified.

Acting Detective Inspector Tim Williams, of Waitemata CIB, says police are liaising with unnamed overseas counterparts and Interpol.
