People living on the Auckland street where two people were found injured in a car say it's a spot where people park up to drink and play music

The pair were rushed to hospital with critical injuries after Police were called to Garnet Road in Westmere yesterday morning.

Residents say they heard a man screaming at the top of his lungs inside a car that was surrounded by emergency services on the waterfront cul-de-sac.

The two people found injured are now in a stable condition.

Neighbours say people often spin their tyres, play really loud music and race up and down the street.
