Otago University researchers are pushing for more drug checking services in Aotearoa

Otago University researchers are pushing for more drug checking services in Aotearoa

Their study on the harm reduction behaviours of MDMA users, shows 42 percent test their substances, with more than 95-percent learning about harm reduction when testing through KnowYourStuffNZ.

Fifty three percent of them changed their behaviour because of it.

Lead author Jai Wheelan says there needs to be a consistent drug education programme, and expanded testing services.

He says having a whole lot of information allows people to make informed decisions about the risks they are willing to take.
