The Steel are taking comfort in the return of former Silver Fern midcourter Shannon Saunders, despite a winless start to the ANZ Premiership season

Their 61-52 defeat by the Mystics is their 20th straight loss in the domestic competition, dating back to 2022.

Saunders played 28 minutes in her first game since giving birth to her child last February.

Steel skipper Kate Heffernan told Sky Sport the return of the 90-test veteran is a boost.
