    WorkSafe has laid charges against the board of trustees at Whangarei Boys High School - over a 15 year old student's death


    Karnin Petera was swept away in floodwaters - during a school trip to Abbey Caves last May.

    The school board is facing charges in the Whangarei District Court, under the Health and Safety at Work Act.

    The school earlier received an improvement notice.
