Premier League referee David Coote has been sacked following the emergence of two videos online that brought his conduct into question

Premier League referee David Coote has been sacked following the emergence of two videos online that brought his conduct into question

    - article from www.rugbyleague.co.nz

Professional Game Match Officials Limited, the governing body for top-flight officials, says an investigation concluded he was in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, with his position deemed untenable.

In the first video, Coote makes a series of obscene remarks about Liverpool and the club's ex-manager Jurgen Klopp, some of them referencing his German nationality.

Another video then emerged which appeared to show Coote snorting a white powder, purportedly during Euro 2024 where he was one of the assistant VARs for the tournament.
