Fruit and vegetable prices are plummeting in tune with falling temperatures

Woolworths says autumnal vegetables are almost a third cheaper than last year.

Lettuce is up to 40 percent cheaper.

Fruit and Veg General Manager, Ryan McMullen, says New Zealand shoppers are price sensitive - and retailers are noticing shopping changes as prices drop.

Woolworths say the trend's expected to continue through the colder months.
