Northland to North Taranaki, also Coromandel Bay of Plenty and Taupo Fine spells. A few showers, mainly in the west. South Taranaki and Taihape to Kapiti Showers becoming frequent and heavier tonight, clearing tomorrow morning but returning tomorrow evening. Gisborne and Hawkes Bay Showers at times from this evening. Wellington, Wairarapa and Marlborough Showers, some heavy and thundery with hail, clearing overnight, but returning tomorrow afternoon. Nelson Mainly fine. A few showers tonight. Buller and Westland Showers, becoming heavier tonight, then clearing tomorrow. Canterbury Rain, with isolated thunderstorms this afternoon, easing to a few showers this evening. Showers becoming widespread and heavier for a time tomorrow. Otago, Southland and Fiordland Showers, some heavy with hail tomorrow morning and snow lowering to 600 metres on the Catlins.
