Whanganui and Taihape to Wellington
Mostly cloudy. A few spots of rain, more frequent this afternoon or evening.
Gisborne to Wairarapa
Mostly cloudy. A few spots of rain late evening.
Buller to Fiordland, Nelson, also Marlborough excluding the Kaikoura Coast
Rain with heavy falls.
The Kaikoura Coast, and Canterbury
Cloudy. Scattered rain, especially north of Ashburton.
Otago and Southland
Mostly cloudy. A few spots of rain until evening.
Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods. A few showers from afternoon.
