Remainder of the North Island Scattered morning showers clearing then mainly fine.
Nelson and Buller Periods of rain, with heavy and possibly thundery falls about the ranges.
Marlborough A period of rain at first, then mainly fine from late morning, but showers remaining about the Sounds.
Westland Scattered rain clearing during the morning, but returning to northern area later.
Canterbury and eastern Otago Scattered rain becoming confined to the eastern Otago this morning with fine spells elsewhere.
The remainder of Otago, Southland and Fiordland Scattered rain.
Chatham Islands Cloudy with the odd light shower.
