Luenell has apologised to Pete Davidson for "tickling" his leg on 'Everybody's Live with John Mulaney'

The 66-year-old comedian recently appeared alongside Pete, 31, on the sit-down talk show, and Luenell has apologised for touching the 'Saturday Night Live' star on the programme

Luenell - whose real name is Luenell Campbell - said: "I admit, I was tickling Pete's leg during a segment of 'Everybody's Live With John Mulaney'; however, I did not mean to make Pete uncomfortable. I sincerely apologise. It was all done in jest."

The comedy star is hopeful that Pete will now forgive her.

She said: "I hope Pete will forgive me, and I'm still willing to go out on a date with him if he so chooses. And I promise I won't touch him again unless he wants me to!"

A rep for Luenell has also released a statement, telling PEOPLE: "By no means did my client, Luenell, want to make Mr. Davidson uncomfortable during their respective appearance on 'Everybody's Live With John Mulaney.' She was just being playful."

During the episode, Luenell joked about Pete's high-profile love life.

The actor has previously dated the likes of Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Kaia Gerber and Margaret Qualley, and Luenell joked about his "mystique".

She tole Pete: "To me, you're just an average guy. Regular guy, but you continuously pull all these bad b******, right? ... So, since I don't get it, I want to know the mystique."

Luenell also joked about Pete's current romance with model Elsie Hewitt.

She continued: "Now, you've had Kim K, several other people, you've got this little supermodel right now."

Pete initially laughed off Luenell's comments, before she made another suggestion.

Luenell said: "What I think, for the research and for women across America, I think that you should take me out."

Pete - who appeared visibly uncomfortable with the conversation - then replied: "If that's what it takes to stop this, yeah."

Pete previously admitted to being frustrated by the interest in his love life.

The comedian told the New York Post newspaper's Page Six column: "It's embarrassing because you want people to write about your work."
