Johnny Depp’s Captain Jack Sparrow character can be an “occupational hazard”
The ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ star has made four films as the swashbuckling buccaneer, to the point where playing him has become second nature and he could appear at almost any time.

Johnny told the E! news network: “It happens pretty organically, he comes right back - he just sort of arrives, he’s actually never too far from the surface, that’s one thing, that’s maybe an occupational hazard in terms of being an actor - that all these characters you play do exist inside there somewhere. But he’s fun to play.”
Johnny added the reason he keeps returning as the loveable pirate is his universal appeal.
He added: "I get a real kick out of, you know, you meet kids of five, six, seven years old and you meet people of 80, 85.
“They all take away something from the films and from the character, and that's just such a boost."
Johnny, 47, also feels there is plenty of potential for further adventures from Captain Sparrow, adding: “For me as an actor, it just feels like there’s a lot more with the character that I can do, it feels limitless in a way.”
Earlier this week it was confirmed a script for a fifth film in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series has been submitted to Disney and Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has said he’s keen to make another episode.
