Will Smith thinks his son Jaden is "100 per cent fearless".

The 'Focus' star - who has the 16-year-old actor with wife Jada Pinkett Smith - is incredibly proud of his son for his willingness to "live and die by his own artistic decisions".

Speaking on BBC Radio 1 Xtra, he said: "There's a really powerful internal quality as an artist that as parents we encourage. You gotta get out on the edge, you have to try things, you have to be comfortable doing things that people don't agree with, and you have to be comfortable doing things that you could fail.

"And Jaden is 100 per cent fearless, he will do anything. So as a parent it's scary, it's really terrifying - but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions and he just doesn't concern himself with what people think."

Meanwhile, Will - who also has daughter Willow, 15 - is also happy to speak out for what he thinks is right, having recently confirmed he will not attend this year's Academy Awards over the lack of diversity in the nominations.

When asked if he was attending the ceremony, he said: "No, my wife's not going. It would be awkward for me to show up with Charlize [Theron]. We've discussed it. We're part of this community, but at this current time, we're uncomfortable to stand there and say that this is OK."
