Yoga used to help kids in primary schools deal with emotions

Yoga is being used as a way to help kids in primary schools deal with their emotions

Nearly 500 students from seven primary schools in Lower Hutt have trialled the Yoga for Schools programme.

The kids do stretches, controlled breathing activities and focused thought exercises.

Hutt City Council's recreation programmer Rebecca Grigg says it's making a huge difference in the classroom.

She says anxious students are becoming more calm and angry students are able to take a breath.
