    A growing number of Wellingtonians are looking to say goodbye to city life

    TradeMe's latest figures show strong double-digit growth in the average asking price of houses outside Wellington City as people look to move.

    The average asking price in Upper Hutt is up 12-percent, Masterton jumped 26-percent and Porirua also up significantly, with an 18-percent increase.

    Head of TradeMe Property Nigel Jefferies says improving transport links has a lot to do with it.

    He says the Kapiti expressway and Transmission Gully they are all making it easier for people to leave the central city.
