    Police continue to call for witnesses to come forward, following the death of a man in Waihi


    A homicide investigation's underway and an autopsy is to be carried out today.

    The 28-year-old died when he was hit by a car on George Street, about 1am yesterday.

    Police believe the driver of the car and the deceased knew eachother - and neither lived in the Coromandel town.

    They want to hear from anyone who may've seen the crash - or saw a bight blue SS Commodore in Waihi on Friday night.
