Level 2 is well underway and many of us are now looking forward to taking a holiday somewhere around the country

Level 2 is well underway and many of us are now looking forward to taking a holiday somewhere around the country

New Horizon Research shows 34 per cent of adults want to take a domestic holiday in the next seven to 12 months.

It's an increase of 176 thousand people since the survey was last conducted in early April.

The Bay of Islands looks to be the most popular holiday spot - more than 823 thousand Kiwis want to visit there.

Queenstown, the Coromandel, Rotorua and Nelson are other hot destinations.
