Police are looking for a man who picked up a hitch-hiker near Wellington on Saturday, May 16

The search is in relation to a homicide in Otaki, and Police hope the driver could help piece together a timeline.

Police say the man was driving a red car and picked up a male hitch-hiker between 5 and 6pm on the highway South of Otaki, before dropping him in Paraparaumu.

It's believed the driver was visiting family in Levin and travelling back to Wellington.
