    A guilty plea today in a Kapiti Coast murder


    Brian McConachie has admitted in the High Court in Wellington to murdering 45-year-old Irina Scantee in a Paraparaumu house last August.

    McConachie was taken into custody near Raumati Beach last year, shortly after emergency services found Scantee dead.

    The 49-year-old Levin man has been remanded to hospital, awaiting sentencing on July 31.
