    Police have released the name of the young woman who died following a shark attack at Waihi Beach

    Police have released the name of the young woman who died following a shark attack at Waihi Beach


    She was 19-year-old Kaelah Marlow, from Hamilton.

    She was pulled from the water yesterday afternoon, but couldn't be saved.

    A rahui has been put in place by local iwi - which prohibits taking shellfish and fishing in the area for a week.

    A stream of people have been laying flowers at the scene and paying their respects.
