    A busy night for firefighters in Wellington who have been facing wet and windy conditions


    Fire and Emergency in the capital had 28 weather-related calls overnight and responded to 19.

    Shift manager Belinda Beets says many of them involved roofs being blown off.

    A large section of a roof came off a house in Newtown,Steel was hanging from an apartment block in the CBD, and doors were blown out in Ngaio.

    A tree was also down on the main road to Eltham.

    And in Westport, Fire and Emergency received twelve calls about trees down.
