A police inspector has described the devastation for officers attending the tragic Timaru car crash in the weekend

Five teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, were killed after the car they were in lost control and smashed into a power pole in Washdyke on Saturday night.
Aoraki Area Commander Inspector Dave Gaskin says the scene was carnage and police knew the victims.
He says police are used to dealing with difficult jobs - but on this occasion it was very personal.
