Our newsroom understands there's a new case in the Wellington area.
Tauranga, Thames, Christchurch and Palmerston North are dealing with cases -- and students at Papamoa's Tahatai Coast Primary School in Tauranga - and Auckland's Epsom Girls Grammar have tested positive.
Auckland's covid cases continue to rise, with new modelling showing hospital admissions in South Auckland won't peak for a few more weeks.
Counties Manukau Health Chief Medical Officer Doctor Pete Watson says people need to know who they'll contact when they get Covid, and who'll check up on them.
He says it will spread throughout the country, and people need to prepare a plan for when the virus finds them.
We're expecting a Covid update from Grant Robertson and Ashley Bloomfield at 1pm.
