Hotels have been bought and sold like never before this year

Hotels have been bought and sold like never before this year

Transactions are the highest on record, topping 400-million dollars.

Those sold this year include high profile sites like the Sofitel Queenstown, Rydges Wellington and lifestyle hotel QT Auckland.

Real estate firm Colliers says it's a sign investors are predicting tourism will rebound strongly post Covid-19.

Hotel National Director Dean Humphries says it's a historic result.

He says the last time there was a peak was 2015, and that was only 300-million dollars.
