Two offenders wanted for a string of burglaries around the North Island have been apprehended

Two offenders wanted for a string of burglaries around the North Island have been apprehended

The burglaries were committed in Waikato, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty.

A police patrol in Kawerau saw a stolen vehicle linked to the pair early yesterday.

It fled when signalled to stop and was later found disabled and abandoned.

A police dog team tracked the offenders -- who were found cold and wet after attempting to hide in a stream.

They'll appear in Whakatane District Court today with multiple burglary, aggravated assault and vehicle theft charges.
