    A person has been seriously injured after a collision between a bus and a car in North Canterbury


    Emergency services were called to the scene on State Highway One, Clarence, in the Kaikoura District -- at around 1PM.

    A St John spokesperson says two helicopters, one ambulance and one manager responded, and three patients are being treating.

    Their injuries range from minor to serious.

    The highway is currently closed near the intersection of Penny Lane, north of Waipapa Bay and Kaikoura.

    Road users are advised to delay travel if possible or consider an alternative route.
