There'll be an increased Police prescence in Auckland's Clendon Park today after unidentified human remains were discovered on Thursday

Officers were called to a home on Moncrieff Avenue, when the occupants brought unowned property home.

Enquiries so far indicate they're not believed to be involved.

A homicide investigation was launched yesterday and Police are working to identify the person.

A post-mortem should be finished this weekend.

Police say they appreciate the public interest in what's happened but given the nature of the discovery, there's still a number of enquiries to carry out.
