Youth Search and Rescue are confident they'll get enough young people to come into address an ageing workforce

Youth Search and Rescue are confident they'll get enough young people to come into address an ageing workforce

The programme initially started in Auckland and Tauranga, is now expanding to Waikato, Thames-Coromandel, Wellington and Christchurch.

General manager Steve Campbell says the demand is there as they're oversubscribed with applicants.

He says Auckland generally gets twice the applicants needed to join the programme.

Campbell says there's potential for a second group in Auckland, but the numbers are coming in for the new branches and leadership teams are being put together.
