Kaikoura Mayor says he's proud of how his community is coming together in support of one another, in the wake of Saturday's fatal boat capsize

Five out of eleven people on board a charter boat died when it capsized, reportedly after colliding with a whale.

In a statement, Mayor Craig Mackle says the tragedy is felt by everyone in the tight knit small town.

He references a quote from Mother Teresa - saying 'Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love'.
