Although the snow has cleared, the cold temperatures aren't over just yet

Although the snow has cleared, the cold temperatures aren't over just yet

A number of spots around the country have recorded their coldest ever day for October, with Timaru and Blenheim waking up to below-zero temperatures.

MetService forecaster Angus Hines says the southerly front is expected to clear today, with temperatures to hit double digits before the weekend is out.

He says Christchurch will finally get some spring heat with the region forecast to get to 20 degrees by Sunday.
