The death in Christchuch of talented young snowboarder is still unexplained

The death in Christchuch of talented young snowboarder is still unexplained

Samuel Finnemore died at a Riccarton address early yesterday morning - two days ahead of his 20th birthday.

Police are investigating whether a broken window at the flat is linked.

Finnemore was a student at Canterbury University, but originally from Auckland.

His family says he loved to competitively snowboard and spent many happy days in Wanaka.

Canterbury University has offered support to people immediately impacted.
