Several upper North Island highways are open again this morning, after a series of crashes and weather-related slips

Several upper North Island highways are open again this morning, after a series of crashes and weather-related slips

The Ohope Road Pacific Coast Highway between Whakatane and Ohope is now open, after a two-car collision left two people injured -- one critically.

State Highway 25 at Pukepoto on the Coromandel Peninsula has also reopened, after a car struck a power pole, leaving one person critically injured and another in a serious condition.

State Highway 25 between Coromandel town and Matarangi has also now reopened following a series of slips.

A temporary speed restriction of 30 kilometres an hour remains in place, and motorists are being urged to take care.
