Police continue to seek information after an assault in New Plymouth left a man in hospital with serious injuries

At 2.35am Saturday, a man entered a toilet block on Ariki Street, and police say he was king-hit while inside.

Police are working to establish exactly what happened and identify the person responsible.

The alleged offender is described as an 18 or 19-year-old man; who has dark coloured, bowl-cut style hair with a fade at the back; was clean shaven; and wearing a crew neck T-shirt.
