Lower Hutt businesses hope concerns about youth crime will be addressed at a meeting today with Police and the Mayor

Lower Hutt businesses hope concerns about youth crime will be addressed at a meeting today with Police and the Mayor

The Hutt Chamber of Commerce is putting on the session after multiple recent crime incidents in the Hutt.

These include a stolen car chase with offenders aged just 14, and an alleged bus brawl last month.

Hutt Chamber Chief Executive Patrick McKibbin says businesses are scared, and customers could also be turned-away from the behaviour of young offenders.

He says youth in and around the city cause trouble, harass people, and engage in anti-social behaviour.
