The father of an apprentice jockey killed in a track fall at Ashburton Racecourse, has told a judicial committee their "loving caring unit" has been shattered

The father of an apprentice jockey killed in a track fall at Ashburton Racecourse, has told a judicial committee their "loving caring unit" has been shattered

Megan Taylor was pronounced dead on December 15, after the 26-year-old's horse was one of four involved in a fall.

Fellow apprentice jockey Denby-Rose Tait has been suspended from racing for six weeks for careless riding.

In a statement, Megan Taylor's father, Kevin, says he wouldn't have been at the hearing, if the defendant pleaded guilty to the charge.
