    Lotto will reveal this morning how much was generated by a special draw, to help victims of Cyclone Gabrielle


    Fifty cents from every dollar spent on Lotto, Powerball or Strike ticket sales will go towards the recovery.

    A Canterbury player won the 15-million-dollar Powerball and half of Division One...the other half going to an Auckland winner.

    Internal Affairs Minister Barbara Edmonds thanked participants after the draw.

    She says there's still a long road ahead - but it's humbling to see everyone pitch in where they can.

    Similar special draws were held after the Christchurch Earthquake in 2011, and the Kaikoura Hurunui earthquake in 2016.
